LUTs, scopes, and detail controls
Import a 3D look, read image levels, and understand measurement limits.
Import a LUT#
The LUT palette accepts 3D .cube files with tables from 2 to 65 points per axis and domain minimum/maximum values. The node applies the LUT after its other adjustments using trilinear interpolation. Set the blend amount or remove it to compare.
Check whether the LUT expects camera log, a specific gamut, or an already normalized SDR image. Applying the wrong transform can crush contrast or distort colors. One-dimensional LUTs, shapers, and a built-in LUT preset browser are not supported.
Choose a scope#
- Luma waveform: compare brightness across the image width.
- RGB parade: examine the three channels side by side.
- RGB waveform overlay: compare channel levels in one display.
- RGB histogram: inspect the distribution of channel values.
- Vectorscope: inspect chroma distribution and direction.
Adjust scope brightness and choose IRE, 8-bit, or 10-bit labels. Ten-bit labels are a display scale; they do not change the renderer to 10-bit processing.
Measurement behavior#
Scopes sample the complete composited Viewer at roughly 7 Hz using a 256×144 input. They are practical monitoring tools, not a full-resolution HDR mastering instrument. There are no nits scales, HDR scopes, or multi-scope layout system in this release.
Blur and sharpen#
Detail controls include blur radius, sharpen amount, mix, and midtone detail. These are lightweight spatial adjustments. Temporal noise reduction, per-channel mist/coring, and Resolve-style motion effects are not implemented. Inspect fine texture at the final viewing size to avoid halos or loss of detail.
